LFJL announces its new internship scheme for 2024. Apply now!

March 15, 2024

Volunteering with LFJL means joining a team that exists, works for, and is passionate about, the defence and promotion of human rights in Libya.

We aspire to give all our volunteers the opportunity to work in a positive and dynamic environment and one where they are able to have an enriching experience, while contributing to our work towards a better Libya based on the rule of law and democracy.

We are now recruiting interns for two volunteering intakes in 2024!

The scheme involves a three month, in-person volunteering experience for 10-25 hours per week, where you will explore one of the following programmes and departments:

  • The Law team - support the strategic litigation of human rights cases.
  • The Research and Capacity Building team - contribute to research projects and training for Libyan civil society (please note that an Arabic speaking volunteer within this team is favoured)
  • The Advocacy team and Communications team - join efforts for human rights advocacy at the national and international level on Libya, and support outreach and communications efforts to our audiences.
  • The Operations, Events, and Fundraising team - support the everyday running of our organisation, including in-person and online events, and fundraising campaigns.

What we offer:

  • Hands-on experience collaborating with different teams and staff across a leading NGO;
  • Develop your knowledge of human rights and law, particularly in the Libya context;
  • A reference for future employment opportunities.
